MakersValley began in the imagination of an Italian clothing merchant’s son, in a small, Italian village.
Growing up, Alessio Iadicicco witnessed major fashion houses shuttering family-owned artisan shops with unreasonable demands. The smaller craftsman shops simply couldn’t compete with the pace and prices of cheap apparel labor from outside Italy.
He also met fashion designers who struggled to find reputable and affordable manufacturers for their clothing lines. He listened to their stories about harsh minimum order requirements, messy project management, and the startling lack of creative protections they had in the fashion designer-manufacturer relationship.
He knew it had to change.
Today, MakersValley connects fashion designers in more than 100 countries and territories with a network of nearly 200 independent Italian manufacturers.
We want anyone, no matter where they live or what language they speak, to be able to work with quality artisans who create beautiful fashion products.
We commit to enabling greatness not only for the fashion designers in our Valley, but also for the Italian artisans who bring their creations to life.
